Loved this cake! I have to admit, I was a little nervous about all the mixing and matching. (If you know anything about me, you know I'm not much of a mixer and matcher!!) But after all was said and done, I loved all the colors and designs that were incorporated into the theme of this cake. The party was a fun mix match theme with an explosion of colors throughout the house! I have to say this was on top of my list of cakes that were the most fun to make!!

Sunflower Cupcakes
My mom loves sunflowers! I made sunflower cupcakes with Oreos for her last year. This time, I put little pictures on the sunflowers. Each member of the family was represented, so everyone was excited to get their designated sunflower cupcake to eat. My mom enjoyed passing out the cupcakes as she looked at all the fun photos of her with her loved ones.

Soccer
My nephew is a soccer stud!! Naturally, we decided a soccer cake would be appropriate (he had his birthday party at an indoor soccer place and played soccer with all of his friends). This was my first time making a ball out of cake-- one thing I learned, at least for soccer balls, is the importance of making precise measurements!

Baby Carnival Cake
Another carnival cake! This one was made personally for baby Brooklyn to dive into at her first birthday! People always ask me if it kills me to watch my cakes being cut into and it doesn't. In this case, I was excited to make a cake for the purpose of being destroyed. I know it brings much joy to the little ones to devour sweet treats!
I also made little carnival cupcakes to go with Brooklyn's first birthday cake.

Happy Birthday, Dad
My dad is a man with many, many hobbies. For his 65th birthday, we made cupcakes that marked all the different things that he does!
Passing out the cupcakes was a lot of fun as my dad read the labels and assigned cupcakes. We called dibs on certain cupcakes, based on our personal interests and connections with my dad. Fun birthday celebration!

Planting a Rainbow
I made this cake for a retirement party for two Kindergarten teachers. The theme was "From Kinder'garden' to Quiet Gardens." It was inspired by Lois Ehlert's Planting a Rainbow. I love the artwork in this book and was very excited to design a cake that mimicked the work!
The large red flower was my favorite one. :)
